Minnesota Golf Courses - The Pines
Pines Lakes #7

Lakes

1 – Drive left center of the fairway to this par 4 for a slightly uphill approach to this large green.

2 – Drive to the center of the fairway on this long par 4. Be aware of the large mound on the back right center of the green.

3 – Playing to the fairway’s center of this short, yet challenging par 4 leaves the best approach opportunity to the two-tiered green. Avoid the small bunkers front and back of this green.

4 – A drive down the left side of this par 5 lets the player bite off a little of the dogleg. Be aware of the multiple bunkers fronting this wide and shallow green.

5 – This par 4 is best played down the right side of the fairway. A tee shot of 200 – 225 yards will allow for a full second shot over water to this small green. Wait until the light has changed to the color green before teeing off.

6 – This shorter par 5 is best played down the left side off the tee. Players may be able to reach this green in two but should be mindful of the tall Norway pines front left and wetland right of this deep multi-tiered green.

7 – The Lakes Nine par 3 signature hole is best played to the center of the green. Rely on putting as the key to this hole.

8 – A nice dogleg left par 4. Place the drive left center for an uphill approach to a deep green.

9 – This par 3 offers two green sites connected by a narrow strip of putting surface. Check the yardages carefully on this hole.

Woods

1 – This par 5 plays best with a tee shot to the right side of the fairway. Stay below the hole on this sloping green.

2 – A drive to the left center is required to see the green for the approach on this challenging par 4. Two hidden bunkers guard the front right of this shallow green.

3 – This par 3 has a small ridge running front to back in the center of this green. Play to the hole side of the ridge for the best chance at birdie.

4 – This tight par 4 driving hole is best played down the middle. The approach is uphill to this kidney-shaped green.

5 – This downhill par 3 required precise yardage judgment. The multi-tiered green makes putting the challenge of this hole.

6 – This short par 4 dogleg left is best played left center off the tee. Play the approach cautiously to this deep rolling green.

7 – A drive down the middle is best of this long par 4. The unique green required a precise play to the pin. Note that the green is separated in the center by what is affectionately called the “Valley of the 3-Putt.”

8 – This longer par 4 dogleg left plays best from the left side of the fairway. Another challenging green calls for an accurate approach.

9 – The Woods Nine signature hole. This long dogleg left par 5 is best played down the middle from the tee. A precisely played second shot will reward the player when hitting to this large undulating green surrounded with water on three sides.

Marsh

1 – Play your drive left center on this scenic par 5. A second shot played left of the “Twin” Norway pines offers a short pitch to this huge rolling green.

2 – This par 3 is best played with a tee shot to the middle of this back-to-front sloping green.

3 – A great par 4 that begs for accuracy off the tee. Play to the middle of the fairway and choose your yardage well when playing downhill to this huge green.

4 – One of the more challenging short par 4s at The Pines. A tee shot played to the center will leave a short uphill iron shot to this small two-tiered green.

5 – This Marsh Nine par 3 signature hole begs for accuracy and distance control. Stay below the hole on this deep back-to-front sloping green.

6 – Play the tee shot on this double dogleg par 5 down the right side for the best angle on the second shot. The green is two-tiered with the right side higher than the left.

7 – A tee shot down the right center on this long par 4 will reward the player with a nice angle to this very deep three-tiered green. Choose the yardage correctly to avoid the “church pew” bunkering left of the green.

8 – A well-placed tee shot just past the lone Norway pine allows for a long second shot to this challenging par 4.

9 – A strong drive down the left side on this dogleg left par 4 will reward the player with a comfortable approach shot to a uniquely shaped green. Second shot yardage selection and accuracy is crucial to avoid bunkers on three sides of this green.
