NorthPark to open March 2019: Over 13 new activities to do at Grand View Lodge
We are excited for the opening of NorthPark Recreation Center, set to open March 2019. This new facility brings Grand View Lodge a multitude of additional and fun activities to do during your stay during all seasons.
Indoor Features of NorthPark
1. Swim laps in our new lap pool with 25-yard swim lanes.
We now will have another indoor pool facility with a slide! Our current pool area is excellent, but there isn’t much actual room for swimming. The new indoor pool will feature three 25-yard swimming lanes. Need to get an early workout? Rise early and hit the recreation center and swim laps. Bordering the entire room of the pool are table and chairs for you to enjoy a book, a drink, or watch your children as they swim.
2. Take a class in our spin/yoga studio with spin bikes and TRX suspension trainers.
Our spin/yoga studio is where we offer dozens of group fitness classes a week ranging from yoga classes and Pilates to spin and everything in between. Also, we provide all of the equipment that you’ll need for our classes. Can’t make it to one of the classes? No worries, we also have an 80-inch flat screen television for a virtual class.
3. Work out in our brand-new fitness center.
Cardio or muscle training, our fitness center provides it all. There will be plenty of options to sculpt, shape, and tone your muscles in our fitness room. The fitness room has state-of-the-art equipment including ellipticals, treadmills, and stationary bikes. Strengthen and tone your muscles, improve endurance and keep your fitness goals on track while on vacation.
4. Kid’s Club with craft and indoor playground area.
Your kids can have fun and make friends with other kids their age. Our Kid’s Club program will be even better with a new indoor space with more room for activities, arts and crafts, and fun. A gated fence will be outside for privacy and safety while your children explore the outdoors.
Sometimes the adults need some alone time pursuing fun on their own, Kid’s Club provides you that opportunity. Leave your children (age 3-11) with our dedicated Kid’s Club staff, and enjoy some time away. Kid’s Club offers activities for all ages and lunch is served between noon and 1:00 pm.
5. Swim in our heated outdoor pool.
In the warm, summer months our outdoor pool will offer fun for everyone. This area is going to be the hottest new hang out on the resort. Our new outdoor pool will bring the NorthPark Recreation Center to the next level of luxury. Lay poolside and relax while you soak up the rays of summer, bring the kids to enjoy fun under the sun, and make your next trip to Grand View Lodge one the kids will be dying to come back for.
6. Soak in our year-round hot tubs.
After a long day of adventuring, relax and soak in our new outdoor hot tub. NorthPark’s outdoor pool area will feature two hot tubs that will be open year-round. In the winter months, the NorthPark outdoor pool area will turn into warm winter oasis. There is nothing better than ending a day winding down and easing the tension in your muscles.
7. Drink and dine at our Tiki bar/Food Truck. The ideas are still brewing for this feature, but we do plan to have a tiki bar or food truck to accommodate our guests relaxing poolside. Imagine unwinding under the sun in a lounge chair with family and friends with a refreshing cocktail and some appetizers.
8. A competitive match at our Cornhole Stadium.
Take a break from the pool and compete with a group of friends in a game of cornhole. The plans are still coming together on this, but we want to provide our guests with the best and coolest cornhole stadium that they’ve ever seen. This stadium won’t be just bags and boards.
9. Spike a ball at our sand volleyball courts.
Bump, set, and spike your way through a casual or competitive game with friends or family. Our sand volleyball courts will feature the finest sand in the Brainerd Lakes Area. Volleyballs will be provided.
10. Glide through our lighted ice-skating rinks.
A winter vacation in Minnesota isn’t complete without ice skating. Twirl the day or night away on our guest-only ice skating rinks. We do provide a select few options of used ice skates for our guests to use. Sharpen your skates and bring your own or check out a pair from our staff.
11. Play on our new tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts.
Challenge your kids or your friends to a game of H.O.R.S.E. or P.I.G. at our Basketball Courts. Or take them on to a competitive game of one-on-one.
Burn off some energy and stir up some friendly competition with a game of pickleball or tennis. The game of pickleball has grown in recent years. The rules are simple, and the game is easy for beginners to learn (easier on the joints, too.) The game is similar to tennis but more moderate in the amount of running back and forth. Enjoy a game and get in some cardio during your stay.
12. Dedicated lawn area for croquet, lawn bowling, and other yard games.
Lawn bowling, life-size chess and checkers, croquet, and more – the activities and things to do are endless during your next stay this summer! Bowling is a fun game perfect for all ages. Set the pins and roll your ball to try to get a strike. This leisure activity is one you’re sure to enjoy under the sun this summer!
13. Mini Amphitheater for Live Music Enjoy fun in the sun with outdoor music playing. The space between NorthPark and North hotel will provide the perfect space to have outdoor music. The sound will be pristine between the two building.
We’ve listened to your feedback and acted — more pool area and more activities to enjoy. We are excited for NorthPark to open so we can provide more activities for our guests. Not only did we add 13 new activities with the new facility, but we also have keyless digital lockers for our guests, spacious changing rooms with showers, a retail shop, and a front desk attendant for all of your questions.
NorthPark is opening in March 2019, earlier than we planned! With countless new activities, your next visit surely won’t disappoint. Book Spring Break at the Lake and be one of the first guests to use the new facility.
