Ring in the New Year with Winter Fun!
Happy New Year from all of us at Grand View Lodge! We hope you’ve had a safe, joyful, and peaceful holiday season spent with your loved ones. This truly is a wonderful time of year, and we wish you and your family all the best as we ring in 2022.
There is plenty of fresh snow on the ground and winter is in full swing, which means several of our famous winter weekends are quickly approaching! Read on and find out all of the exciting things happening here in the coming weeks.

Ice Fishing Extravaganza: January 28-30
The Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza is the largest ice fishing contest on Earth, and better yet, proceeds go to over 50 local charities. Over $4.2 million has been donated since the event was first held in 1991. More than simply a fishing contest, this event has quickly turned into a statewide tradition, and Grand View is the perfect place to celebrate from!
Guests that book a stay with us receive access to our guest-only hospitality tent stocked with complimentary beer, hot cocoa, chili and hot dogs, bonfires, heaters, and spacious seating areas. Take a break from the exciting action on the ice and warm up with fabulous food and beverages prepared by our staff.
Have a blast ice fishing, support local charities, and win one of the hundreds of prizes that are given away at this awesome event. This is one weekend you won’t want to miss!

Minnesota Ice Daze: February 4-6
The fun on the ice continues the following weekend with Minnesota Ice Daze, where the whole family can participate in our fishing derby, The Kelby Classic! Prizes will be awarded and we’ll have bonfires, food, and beverages sure to keep you warm while you fish. You do need to bring your own gear to the event, and the Brainerd Lakes Area has many sporting stores available to find just the right gear. Families return year after year for this celebration of winter all ages can enjoy.

de’Vine: February 11-13
Wine enthusiasts, unite! de’Vine is back February 11-13 with new paired dinners, classes and seminars, all the samples you can imagine and more!
Register for one of our specialty dinners with wine pairings prepared by our renowned Chef on Friday night. Then on Saturday, immerse yourself in our wine and culinary seminars, where you’ll be sure to broaden your depth of knowledge on wine and food.
Our Grand Tasting on Saturday night will allow you to sample a vast array of wines from around the world, organized by distinct regions and 16 distinct bites for your culinary pairings. End the weekend on a high note by partaking in our champagne brunch on Sunday morning before you head out. Guests who book the de’Vine package receive a Riedel glass for tasting and our signature 2022 de’Vine lapel pin!

Frozen Fore: February 25-27, 2022
A three-day celebration of epic proportions, Frozen Fore is another annual Brainerd Lakes tradition you won’t want to miss. Start the weekend off by attending the Frozen Flop on Friday night, and watch as teams of participants jump into the freezing cold water of Hole-in-the-Day Bay to raise money for charity! Afterward, take in the heated tent party with live music and a full bar.
Then on Saturday, try your hand at nine distinct holes of snow golf at nine different locations around Gull Lake. Warm-up on Saturday night with more live music in a heated tent.
Sunday caps off the weekend with Food Fest, an extraordinary celebration of local restaurants. Try a multitude of the best offerings put together by local chefs and restaurants, and vote for your favorite. This amazing cook-off is a perfect end to this legendary weekend.
